After dominating both rounds of the Italian Enduro Championship, Francesca shifted her focus to the FIM Enduro GP World Championship, making her way to Portugal for the 2025 season opener.
Rain showers greeted the world’s best enduro riders as they arrived in the town of Fafe, where the Super Test kicked off the weekend’s action on Friday evening. Despite the heavy rain, a large crowd gathered to witness the thrilling start of the competition and with her sights firmly set on securing the top spot by the end of the season, Francesca rose to the challenge. She navigated the treacherous, muddy conditions and finished the first test in second place, just 1.92 seconds behind the leader.
On the first full day of riding, Francesca tackled the rugged terrain of Northern Portugal, manoeuvring through spectacular boulders and battling early morning fog that had settled over the course. Finding her rhythm on the Honda RedMoto CRF250 RX, she dominated the Special Tests, claiming five out of the nine wins. By the end of the day she had a commanding lead, securing the overall victory with more than a minute to spare— an impressive and powerful performance.
The final day of action brought clear blue skies, offering the riders breathtaking views as they raced through the challenging course. Though Francesca suffered a crash in the first Extreme Test, she quickly regained her composure as a thrilling battle then ensued between her, Rachel Gutish, and Nieve Holmes. Francesca’s steady focus allowed her to edge ahead and she clinched another three test victories and completed the double victory, marking a perfect start to the 2025 championship.
There’s a break from Enduro GP until August, where Francesca will aim to maintain her momentum and extend her lead in the series when it returns for the Wales GP. In the meantime her focus will be on the Italian Enduro Championship next month.

“It’s been a brilliant weekend. I started with a good Super Test on Friday night and was able to win by a margin of a minute on Saturday. Today, I made a mistake on the first Extreme Test but was able to pick myself up and push right to the end and take the overall win. It’s now time to go home and get back to training so I can keep the red plate in the next round. I can’t wait to be racing again!”
